DAVID & JEANNIE JOHNSON

Owners

David started Bear Creek Farm in 1975 with his wife Jeannie, and his two daughters. They started with a small commercial herd and worked their way up to the large Registered Angus herd that we operate today. They also own Bear Creek Country Stores, in Leonard & Bells, Texas. David also served on the Texas Angus Association Board for three years. Jeannie helps keep everything running smoothly, keeps everyone in line, and makes sure we are all involved in the community! Several years ago their grandchildren Blaine and Katelyn graduated from college and came back to help with the management of Bear Creek.

BLAINE ALEXANDER

General Manager

Blaine graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with a degree in Agribusiness. He helps oversee the management of the farming and cattle operation as well as being General Manager of Bear Creek Country Stores. If you have any questions about cattle, breeding, feeding, our sale, or our marketing give him a shout. He also serves on the boards of the Leonard Chamber of Commerce and the Fannin Agricultural Association, Inc.

KATELYN ALEXANDER PARSONS

Manager of Accounting & HR

Katelyn graduated from Tarleton State University in 2019 with a degree in Agribusiness and a Minor in Accounting. She has been helping oversee the operation of the farm and the stores ever since. She keeps all our bills paid, statements in order, and spreadsheets at the ready for the stores and the farm. She takes pride in keeping us all in line and on our toes!

BENTON WITT

Herd Manager

Benton graduated from Tarleton State University in 2017 with a degree in Agricultural Services and Development. He has been a part of the Bear Creek Farms family since 2023. He makes sure all the cattle are happy, healthy, and humanely handled. He ensures all the cattle wearing our brand meet our rigorous standards so that they live up to our customer's expectations of excellence they have come to expect from Bear Creek Farms.

JACI WITT

Herd Record Manager

Jaci graduated from Oklahoma City University in 2019 with a degree in Science and Human Performance. She joined our team in 2023. She has been helping with the management of the herd with her husband Benton ever since. She keeps all our calves registered, papers transferred, pastures sorted, spreadsheets at the ready, and she is not afraid to hop on her horse or run the headgate!

EDUARDO ZAPATA

Manager of Farming Operations

Eduardo has been helping keep everything and everyone around the farm in order since 2008. He works to improve our pastures so our cattle have the best opportunity to thrive in a natural environment. He also helps us raise high quality hay and haylage to keep our cattle maintained year round so they reach their genetic potential and won't fall apart when they go to work for you!
